Children are given the opportunity to undertake small-group or one-to-one weekly music lessons. We currently have children receiving keyboard and guitar tuition.
Weekly Singing Practice
Thanks to our highly musical staff members, our children benefit from singing practice led by specialists, accompanied by the guitar and/or keyboard. Our school choir made up of enthusiastic singers from Class Badgers and Class Foxes rehearse every Wednesday during the school day.
Dance opportunities are provided during P.E. sessions and when preparing for performances, extra-curricular dance sessions are delivered.
Whole School Performances
Traditionally our Foundation Stage 2/Key Stage Onechildren lead our Christmas Performance and our Key Stage Two children lead our Summer Performance. The performances provide opportunities for all children to sing, dance and act in front of an audience. The children are also instrumental in preparing props, scenery and costumes and promoting the event. Harvest Festival and Easter whole-school celebrations also provide opportunities for children to be involved in the arts.
Drawing and Painting
As evidenced by our wonderful displays, our children are given regular opportunities to refine their skills within the topics they are studying and to show off their results! We pride ourselves on the high standard of presentation of our displays.
Cooking and Baking
Throughout the school year, opportunities are provided for children to develop skills in this area within the curriculum frameworks. Our school kitchen is regularly in use and the children are closely supervised and guided.
