Binbrook C of E Primary School Governor Roles and Responsibilities 2016/2017

The Governors of Binbrook C of E Primary School are volunteers who carry overall responsibility for the school. The Full Governing Body meets six times a year and is made up of representatives from those who work at the school, parents and the local community, including the church.

There is a specific Finance Committee. This committee consists of three Governors and the Head Teacher. The committee meets one week before each Full Governing Body meeting.

During the Full Governing Body meeting, matters around finance, personnel, curriculum, buildings and site are discussed in line with the core functions of  a Governing Body:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils and the performance management of staff
  • Overseeing  the financial performance of the school and making sure it is money well spent

Through both challenge and support, the Governing Body ensure the best possible education for the children in the school.
